"Can't I just
ask ChatGPT?"

Yes — and sometimes you should. It is the honest question every buyer asks, so here is the honest answer, including the cases where the general-purpose AI is the better choice and you should keep your money.

When ChatGPT is genuinely the right tool

If you want to think out loud, draft an email to a supplier, summarise a contract, brainstorm names, or get a quick orientation on an unfamiliar market — use the assistant you already pay for. It is fast, flexible, and $20 a month. Buying a strategy platform for those jobs would be a waste.

It is also perfectly capable of writing something that looks like a strategy. That is precisely where the difficulty starts.

The three things a general assistant will not do for you

1. It answers the question you asked. That sounds like a feature. In strategy it is the core risk: the quality of the output is capped by the quality of your prompt, so you have to already know what to ask. A structured method asks the questions you did not think of — which is most of the value of hiring a strategist in the first place.

2. It does not hold the work together. Ask about pricing on Monday and competitors on Thursday and you get two disconnected answers. Strategy is about how those interact — how a price move changes your competitive position, which changes churn, which changes the cash available for the next move. Mapping that chain is the job.

3. It forgets. Strategy is a cycle, not a document. What you decided last quarter, what you predicted, whether it happened, what that means now — a chat thread does not carry any of it, so nothing compounds.

The fair test

Ask ChatGPT for a strategy for your business. Then run the free Percision diagnostic on the same business. Compare them side by side — specifically, look at whether the analysis shows its arithmetic, whether it tells you what not to do, and whether it identifies anything you had not already thought of.

If the free assistant wins, keep your money. We would rather you make that call with both answers in front of you than take our word for it. You can also read a complete Percision report first — every page, no email required.
